A traditional Refrigeration Service company in Cincinnati, who has been an IOM Part’s customer and service provider of SESCO’s for quite a few years, had been passing on opportunities to sell replacement reach-in refrigeration. One of the exciting new products we have had the pleasure of working with clients is the Amana AXP22 Combination Oven. This product is opening doors to new and old customers alike who are interested in working smarter and faster, expanding their menu offerings while gaining control of product quality and consistency. Users are reaping greater efficiencies with their labor force, floor space, and energy savings.
The AXP22 combines 2200 watts of Microwave power with up to 520 degrees of convection heat along with 3000 watts of radiant heat. This combination makes it possible to cook up to 15 times faster than conventional ovens. The cavity can hold up to a 14” pizza and requires no special pans to use. The built in catalytic converter filters grease and odors from the air, which allows you to put the unit anywhere in your kitchen, many times eliminating the need to use valuable hood space.
One college uses their AXP22’s in their café’s. Students or faculty can get piping hot macaroni & cheese, French bread pizza, or several dessert items heated up alamode.
I’ve had Athletic clubs test the AXP22 on their breadsticks, Italian dishes, as well as several fish dishes for use out by the pool and after the main kitchen closes for the evening.
One chain restaurant uses the AXP22 for Roast Beef Melts & Tuna Cheddar Melts (in 45 seconds), and fresh salmon sandwiches (30 seconds). Another restaurant has tested finishing their Roast Duck to a crispy brown (70 seconds).
